Chipotle teamed up with Riot Games for the first time last year to establish a presence in its free 2 vs. 2 fighting game 2XKO that features winners from League of Legends. Now the companies are doubling down on that partnership with the launch of the 2XKO Real Ones Event Presented by Chipotle.
Players in the U.S. can now enter a fully customized Chipotle casual lobby inside 2XKO, marking the first time Riot Games has created a branded lobby for players. Through the limited-time event, players across the world can complete missions to unlock exclusive in-game rewards, such as the “Realest” player title, “Extra Hot” player title, Crying Poro sticker, Mic Drop emote, and Casual Cozy avatar outfit.
Also, eligible U.S. players can also earn codes redeemable for Chipotle food, including a free entrée, double protein, and more.
The event will include two phases, from June 16-28, and July 21-Aug. 6. Coinciding with the June 16 event kickoff, the Chipotle Fresh Fit Bundle, featuring Chipotle-inspired avatar gear, including a Fresh Fit Backpack and Fresh Fit Bucket Hat, will also be made available for fans who place a qualifying order on the Chipotle app or Chipotle.com using promo code TAGTEAM.
“Chipotle has continued building experiences for the FGC (Fighting Game Community) that give fans more reasons to play, compete and connect around the games they love,” Senior Vice President of Brand Marketing Stephanie Perdue said in a statement. “With 2XKO, we’re turning the lobby into more than a place to queue up — it’s a destination where players can earn exclusive in-game items and real Chipotle rewards.”
Chipotle and Riot Games first kicked off their 2XKO partnership with last year’s Chipotle Challenger Bundle and a launch moment at Evo Las Vegas 2025 featuring custom Chipotle x 2XKO arcade cabinets, tournaments, developer Q&A sessions and giveaways. Chipotle will be the presenting sponsor of Evo Las Vegas for the fourth year in a row.
Chipotle has an extensive history with the gaming community. In 2024, the chain partnered with Tekken 8 to allow players to earn in-game currency through digital entrée purchases. Chipotle also started its Evo sponsorship with FGC in 2023. That same year, the chain served as an official launch partner of Street Fighter 6.
Global gaming revenue is projected to grow by 6% from 2026 to 2030. According to Deloitte, roughly three in 10 Gen Z teens (27%) say gaming is their favorite entertainment activity.
