Customers are coming back to Cracker Barrel faster than expected following its logo blow-up last year. Same-store sales at the chain fell 2.6% last quarter, and traffic was down 6.7%, both of which were major improvements over the previous quarter. Executives credited better operations and a steady drip of new and returning menu items for the growth. The positive trend prompted Cracker Barrel to raise its revenue forecast for the year. Investors were also impressed, pushing the chain’s stock up more than 26% on Wednesday.

Pizza Hut has lost share to Domino’s in recent years and has also likely been impacted by third-party delivery, which has leveled the playing field in a space where pizza used to have a major convenience advantage. Another perhaps surprising factor may be eroding the pizza giant’s market share and that is c-store giant Casey’s. In a recent note, Bank of America outlines the significant geographic overlap between Casey’s and Pizza Hut, adding that the former is likely stealing sales. Casey’s launched pizza in 1984 and touts itself as the fifth largest pizza chain in the country with over $1.5 billion in sales. The bank also states that Casey’s has an advantage from its breadth of offerings; the c-store can offset persistent food pressures with high fuel margins, for example.

The Habit Burger & Grill is jumping into the competitive wraps category, with three new Gotta Habit Wraps that are cooked to order and each priced at $5. They include the BBQ Chicken Wrap, Chicken Caesar Wrap, and Avocado Ranch Chicken Wrap. The company is taking aim at its peers with its $5 pricepoint, calling out the “$20 lunch world.” The wraps are also available as part of the $10 Gotta Habit Box deal, along with fries and a drink.
