Dalia Debuts on West Broadway
South Boston’s dining scene gets a stylish new addition on Thursday, April 2nd as Dalia opens its doors, bringing a Spanish-inspired, live-fire concept from chef Nicholas Dixon and the Broadway Restaurant Group to 429 West Broadway.
The restaurant centers on á la brasa cooking, with a custom-built, Barcelona-made Josper kitchen at the heart of the dining room, where Basque-style grills, a wood-fired broiler and a dedicated paella station power a menu rooted in Spanish tradition with a modern, chef-driven perspective. Drawing inspiration from regions across Spain, the menu spans tapas, crudos, paellas and larger-format dishes designed for sharing, all tied together by the elemental pull of live-fire cooking.
Dixon, a longtime fixture in Boston kitchens including Charlestown’s supremely popular Prima Italian Steakhouse and South End fave Capri, leans into simplicity, sourcing and technique in what he describes as his most ambitious concept to date. The beverage program follows suit, with a cocktail list that riffs on Spanish drinking culture. Think sherry, vermouth and communal pours—alongside a 100-plus bottle wine list focused largely on Spanish producers and low-intervention practices. Expect playful touches like table-side porrón service and a dedicated gin and tonic section served in traditional goblets.
Designed by Assembly Design Studio, the space is built around the open kitchen, with multiple dining experiences ranging from fireside seating and bar-top tapas to a more refined back dining room. A retractable glass canopy and lush greenery bring in light and warmth, creating a transportive setting that feels both polished and relaxed.
Dalia is open daily from 4:00pm-1:00am. Reservations are available via OpenTable. Book a table and get ready to dig into one of the season’s most anticipated openings. In the meantime, you can keep an eye on their website for menu sneak peeks or give them a follow on Insta to stay up to date on all the happenings.
