Davio's Northern Italian Steakhouse in Chestnut Hill Is Closing
A location of a local group of upscale Italian steakhouses is closing, though a new location could open nearby at some point.
According to an article in Boston Magazine, Davio's Northern Italian Steakhouse in Chestnut Hill is shutting down at the end of business hours on June 28, with owner Steve DiFillippo saying that the restaurant--which shares its space with Showcase SuperLux Chestnut Hill--is shutting down because the chain of movie theaters was sold and his deal with the chain ends this month. DiFillippo mentions in the article that "There are a million reasons why restaurants close, but this one is not closing because of lack of business....We're closing because we don't have a lease. We can't stay in a space that's not ours" while adding that this has been "the craziest thing [he's] ever dealt with." DiFillippo does hope to find a space for a new location of Davio's in Chestnut Hill while he's also planning to open another on the South Shore, possibly within the next year (the Braintree location of Davio's closed around the beginning of this year).
Other locations of Davio's locally can be found at Park Square in Boston, the Seaport District, Logan Airport, Foxboro, and Lynnfield.
The address for the Chestnut Hill location of Davio's is 55 Boylston Street, Chestnut Hill, MA, 02467. The website for all locations can be found at https://davios.com/
