Freddy’s newest menu items aren’t served in a bun but a bowl.
The Wichita, Kansas-based fast-casual burger chain has released a line of bowls, designed to target customers seeking “lower-carb, lower-calorie options” and “a variety of lifestyle preferences.”
Each bowl is served with the customer’s choice of dressing: Fry Sauce, Ranch, Honey Mustard, or Thousand Island. In each case, Freddy’s will top them with lettuce, diced tomatoes and onions, chopped bacon, and Monterey Jack and cheddar cheeses.
The Steakburger Bowl features two steakburger patties. The Chicken Bowl features grilled or fried chicken and a Veggie Burger Bowl includes a vegetarian black bean patty. The veggie bowl does not include bacon.
Because this is 2026, the company is also boasting about the protein content of some of these bowls. “The Steakburger Bowl is a fresh and fulfilling meal that is packed with 55 grams of protein,” Rick Petralia, senior director of menu strategy and innovation, said in a statement.
He called the bowls “a delicious new way to enjoy the bold and craveable flavors people love from Freddy’s.”
Freddy’s has been one of the faster growing burger chains in the country in recent years, but that growth slowed somewhat last year, according to Technomic Top 500 data. System sales grew 5.3% last year to just over $1 billion. The company finished the year with 580 locations.
