Kids Are Home for Summer, Stock Up on Supplies This Prime Day (2026)
I’ll fully admit that I don’t like clutter. That’s especially true in the kitchen: It’s often my workspace, so if the sink is full and the countertops aren’t tidy, I can’t function at 100%. But kids’ stuff can take up so much space, which is why I try to buy only what they’ll actually use until it’s absolutely worn out. If something is just collecting dust, I’ll donate it.
I have two kiddos—ages 5 and 7—and there are some kitchen items I’d never buy again, whereas I would buy others over and over. Many of the ones I love have lasted the test of time (aka the toddler, preschool, and early elementary years), so I actually haven’t had to replace them. Right now, some of my faves are marked down for Amazon Prime Day, so if you have little ones, consider making space in your kitchen for these deals.
Munchkin Miracle 360 Sippy Cup

Before my kids were born, I saw my niece drinking from one of these curious-looking cups. It tipped, I reached, and it actually was a miracle—there wasn’t a drop in sight. These cups have a spill-proof design that actually works; their lids are perfect for training the tiniest humans to drink, and reseals once the sipping stops. I also love that the Munchkin is dishwasher-safe, durable, fits into cupholders, and comes in a wide variety of sizes and super-fun colors.

I was never a waffle person… and then I had kids. My entire life was spent eating savory breakfasts (bring on the eggs, bacon, and hash browns), but at some point, my kids asked for waffles. So I did my research and bought a waffle maker. Now might be the time to add a Belgian-style one since the Ninja is 30% off.

My 7-year-old son loves sushi (as in it’s actually his most-requested food), and I think this all started when he was almost 3 and we handed him his first pair of these adorable animal-themed trainer chopsticks. While he’s moved on to a new set of “bigger boy” chopsticks, we still have his alligator ones and now my 5-year-old daughter loves them too. Of course, we don’t just use them for sushi: spaghetti, veggies, and steak are all fair game.

The amount of snacks I dish out in a 24-hour period is mind-boggling. Whether the kids are playing in the yard, in transit, at sports practices, or have just arrived home from school, a small bite is in order. Suffice it to say, these reusable, dishwasher-safe pouches get a ton of use. While they’re on sale, I’d recommend tossing a couple in your cart.

While it’s not possible to get the kids helping in the kitchen for every meal (or let’s be honest, most), I like to hone their cooking skills when there isn’t a mad rush to get dinner on the table. To ease parents’ minds as far as safety is concerned, as well as assist their little hands, I love tools tailored specifically to kids. This cute snail peeler is a great early tool, and it even comes with a safety glove for extra peace of mind.
Zoku Classic Pop Molds

Sure, there are plenty of ice pops in the freezer aisles these days, but there’s truly nothing like making them from scratch. It’s a simple way to “cook” with your kids, and this Zoku mold eliminates the headache of trying to balance a wooden popsicle stick in the center before it freezes. Plus, it comes with drip guards to help with (at least some of) the mess.

OK, this isn’t technically a kitchen tool (more of a kitchen toy), but it can make your life easier in the kitchen. Hear me out: Have the kids be their own line cooks with this Melissa and Doug set while you’re working on the actual meal. My kids have a couple of different sets—my son got his first around 18 months, and he and his sister still play with it today.
