Subway has a new digital channel.

The sandwich chain is the first restaurant to appear on the Walmart app and Walmart.com, allowing guests to order a sandwich to be delivered in 30 minutes or less.

It’s the first restaurant integration for Walmart Express Delivery orders. The retail giant said it reflects a broader focus on helping customer simplify their life by bringing the purchase of groceries, household essentials, fashion and prescriptions together with ordering a restaurant meal in one convenient experience.

Subway has about 1,400 locations in Walmart stores and the ordering option is now live in select stores across Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Texas, Walmart said.

Where eligible, customers will be able to see an option to order Subway on the Walmart app or website based on the addresses associated with their account, Walmart said.

They can browse the sandwich menu, customize their sandwich, and add it to their cart for delivery, either on its own or alongside their grocery delivery.

Pricing is consistent with in-restaurant menus, and guests will also have the ability to order subs available only at Walmart, like a Smoky and BBQ Grilled Chicken, and unique sides, like a SuperPretzel soft pretzel.

“Subway has always been focused on making freshly made, quality meals accessible to customers wherever they are,” said Damien Harmon, president of Subway North America, in a statement. “The integration of Subway delivery into the Walmart app and Walmart.com is a natural evolution of our 20-year relationship built on shared commitment to value, freshness and everyday convenience.”

Walmart has more than 10,900 stores and eCommerce websites in 19 countries. Subway, meanwhile, has more than 35,000 franchised restaurants around the world.

Subway said the delivery launch is another step in the growing Subway-Walmart relationship.

More collaboration is coming, the sandwich chain said, including more restaurant locations in stores, remodeled units and other “new ways to meet shared guests where they are.”
