Taco Bell is bringing fajita flavors to its signature Street Chalupas and Nacho Fries for a limited time. The Fajita Street Chalupas, $5.99, and Chicken Fajita Nacho Fries, $5.49, are available beginning June 18.
The Chalupa can be ordered with marinated steak or slow-roasted chicken layered into cheesy shells with peppers and onions seasoned with chile, onion, and garlic, and finished with Creamy Jalapeño sauce and an onion-cilantro blend. The Nacho Fries are topped with slow-roasted chicken and the same fajita ingredients, as well as reduced-fat sour cream, nacho cheese sauce, and a blend of cheeses.
The launches come as “Fajita Drama” memes capture social media users’ attention. The trend ramped up in 2025 when people joked that ordering sizzling fajitas is “attention seeking” because of the dish’s loud sizzling sounds and presentation. Taco Bell tested portable versions “without turning the meal into a whole production” for years.
“Fajitas have a way of making an impression, and we wanted to bring that same excitement and unmistakable flavor to the menu in a way fans can experience wherever they are,” Chief Marketing Officer Luis Restrepo said in a statement. “To us, it’s all about centering the savory peppers and onions that make fajitas so iconic and bringing that flavor to formats fans already love, so they get everything they crave without the sizzling spectacle.”
Taco Bell has experimented with fajita flavors before, including its Steak Fajita Sandwich from the 1980s and its fajita burritos in the early 2000s.
To celebrate its latest fajita launch, the chain is offering rewards members the chance to win a Taco Bell x Ian Charms drop on June 23 at 2 p.m. PT. The limited-edition charm necklace features a mix of five custom Taco Bell-exclusive charms, including Street Chalupas, Fire Hot Sauce packets, Mountain Dew Baja Blast cups, Taco Bell purple bells, and fajita-inspired details that celebrate the seasoned peppers and onions at the center of the new menu items.
