Wonder is coming for fast food. The company believes that its delivery-focused, highly automated food concept will take share from QSR chains and grocery stores as it strives to become consumers’ go-to source for meals in the future. Founder and CEO Marc Lore said automation will allow Wonder to keep prices low, and delivery, including drone delivery, will help it get food to people faster and more conveniently. It also plans to use AI to let people create their own restaurant concepts as well as automate their meal plan based on their dietary needs.
A sexual harassment suit involving the restaurant Bouchon in Las Vegas is settled. The restaurant group of famed chef Thomas Keller has agreed to pay $2 million to settle the case filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in 2018. The lawsuit alleged that male supervisors and coworkers at the restaurant, which is in The Venetian on the strip, subjected both female and male workers to unwanted sexual advances and physical contact, sexual comments and offensive conduct. And some workers said they suffered retaliation when they complained to the parent company.
